41: Halloween Show

It’s a Halloween-themed episode. Host James, joined by his wife Jennifer, focus on humorous and spooky stories shared by themselves and listeners. James rethinks scaring a young Jennifer but makes it worse. Scaring one another during Jennifer’s pregnancy, when they startled each other in a dark room.

Listener submissions: White Mage Jack shares a trick-or-treating anecdote. Dauphin recounts a childhood trauma waking up alone and thinking it was the rapture. Alana describes her clown phobia, sparked by Stephen King’s IT. Eerie catacomb photos from a trip to Israel showing ghostly figures. Eric tells of his younger brother sneaking through a laundry chute to scare him on Halloween, while Marbles shares a Boy Scout camp story of mysterious woods noises and missing counselors. Nick hilariously recounts freaking out over a palmetto bug crawling up his shorts, and Vance describes his dread of taking trash to a dump near a creepy grave.

James and Jennifer reflect on childhood fears, creepy movies like The Exorcist and The Others, and even backward-masking music that haunted a very young James.

Celebrating the lighter side of fear.
